Hall, Kistler & Company has promoted Sandra Orcutt to supervisor and Alex Ferrara senior accountant. Michael Grafton and Alexandra Smith recently joined the firm as staff accountants and Sarah Yost and Kelley Auvil have completed their QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Pro 2016 online Certifications.
Sandra started as a seasonal preparer for Hall, Kistler and was hired as a staff accountant in 2013 and brought with her several years of Big Four experience as well as corporate accounting experience. Her areas of concentration include 1040’s and estates as well as preparation of tax returns, audits, reviews and compilations. As a double major, Sandra holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Akron. She is very active in her children’s school communities and with her church and is a member of the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Alex practices in the areas of individual and corporate taxation and audits and is a member of the Non-Profit Niche. He is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. Alex is a graduate of the University of Mount Union, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in accounting. He is currently attending The University of Akron where he is in the MBA program. He was a 2015 recipient of the OSCPA Foundation Scholarship for graduate studies.
Michael comes to Hall, Kistler and Company with six years military service in the Army as well as experience in the manufacturing industry. His duties will include preparation of financial statements, tax, audit and engagements. Michael graduated from Hiram College this year with a bachelor in Accounting and Finance Management and interned at a local accounting firm. He is a member of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. In his spare time, Michael likes to umpire, play softball and bowl.
Alexandra has been hired as a staff accountant. Her areas of practice will include tax, audit, compilations and reviews. She comes to Hall, Kistler & Company from a firm in Florida where she was an audit assistant. Alexandra graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University where she earned her bachelor’s in accounting. She is a member of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. In her spare time, Alexandra is involved with equestrian activities and is a member of the National Reining Association, and the Southwest Florida Horse Rescue, Inc.
Sarah is one of our leaders in the bookkeeping department. She is certified in Xero and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She is knowledgeable in RainMaker, TCS and Applied Systems. Sarah also practices in the areas of accounting, audit, and tax for clients in the Restaurant, Medical and Manufacturing industries and has experience in preparing 1040s as well as bankruptcy workouts. Sarah graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mount Union College and was hired on as a full-time staff accountant in 2005. Sarah is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and is on the board of Women’s Initiative (WIN). She is a 2008 graduate of Spotlight Stark County and is a member of the Canton Regional Chamber and the College Club of Canton.
Kelley has been with the firm since 1982 and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®. Her expertise includes reporting, bank reconciliations and write-ups in QuickBooks and Peachtree as well as payroll tax preparation. She also has experience in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The industries Kelley serves include oil and gas, non-profits, medical, real estate and business services. Kelley is a member of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and spends her free time volunteering for her children’s schools and her church.
