Oil & gas is a complicated business with difficult tax issues. Intangible drilling cots (IDC), percentage oil & gas depletion and MACRS depreciation are just the beginning. Tax decisions made on these issues have a direct impact on the Alternate Minimum Tax (AMT). Many of the elections, once made, are irreversible.
